Day 22 has certainly been a little less fizzy but definitely been an awful lot more dizzy. Certainly Mum was after I sent her on a magical mystery tour of Clackmannanshire and in to Menstrie to find me at the Clackmannan tower in yep you’ve guessed it – Clackmannan!!
I was not firing on all cylinders today and had made too many presumptions last night about the quality of signage to a railway station and ability of a satnav to find a tower with no road on the top of a very large hill!! What an idiot I had been but nevertheless Mum enjoyed her tour of the towns of Clackmannanshire along with visiting one of the towers! I in the meantime had taken Georgie on a well planned walk of 5 miles to visit the towers of Alloa and Clackmannan. It was a good day. I learnt a little about the wee county. I relearned valuable lessons about the importance of prior planning and preparation preventing jolly poor performance and dizzy journeys!! The rain held off and Georgie enjoyed another day out of retirement.
I did do an early morning 2 mile walk this morning straight after taking the pills to work the chemo round the system while killing time before I could eat something. Took a plastic bag and the litter pickers and set off around the castle and the river. Bumped in to Rory and told him about the challenge. Great to see you liked the page Rory and thank you for joining me on this journey. Meanwhile my journey continued around the river pickers in hand when it dawned on me that not only does litter picking fine tune my balance capability but like a lancer on horseback it takes a serious amount of coordination to identify a peace of litter, present the picker and grab with the pincers to lift and then deposit into the bag in one smooth movement without tripping over something. This is hand eye coordination, think and act, cognitive and motor function so now forms an important tool in my quest to build the back up generator in the left side of the brain – brilliant – the village will be looking even tidier!!!
5 miles plus 2 miles walked today. So…….
